I don't have much to say today. I've been busy and it's my Monday! Back to work after my nice little break of five days. I don't mind. It's always nice to get back and see my work friends!
I thought I would just post a few of my favorite photos from the ones I took for the photochallenge at 100_Snapshots. These are some of the ones I took, but did not use.
In trying to capture the wind I took this of the neighbor's windmills. He used to build and sell these. These particular two have been going strong since before I moved to the neighborhood in 1965, when I was 15.
In getting my picture for the word vacant I spied these two spider webs on the "for sale" sign post. This amplified the meaning of 'vacant' to me, but there was no way I could get it into the picture. The home has been sitting vacant since it sold. I am sure the property will be developed. I hate developers.
I stopped and took this on my way home the other morning. This duck pond is near my home, next to a friend's house that is for sale. I wish I could buy it. When my daughter was little she would often ask, "Are we going home 'the donkey, goose and duck way' or 'the goat, pig and dog way'." This referred to two different streets we could take to get to our house. We mostly went this way, which was the donkey, goose and duck way. Both ways referred to the animal life that we saw while driving.
This is actually an older picture of some artwork outside the Tacoma Glass Museum. I'm not sure they are even still there. I haven't been there in awhile, but I liked them.
A typical day for football in the Pacific Northwest. My friend and I went to watch her grandson and this was just before the game started. The kids got pretty soaked, but kids never seem to care about that. I remember when I was a teenager and we always played football in the rain and mud. We thought it was fun.
