I have some thing for now...

but I will finish this blog later. I want to go out for awhile and I may not be back before midnight, so here is my place marker for today's blog. More photography?

How about Logan trying out my reading glasses?
I already changed my mind. This is good enough the way it is.

Now it is raining again...

I guess we only get one day of sunshine every other week this year. So tired of waiting and waiting to have a few nice days in a row. When I was younger I didn't let the rain stop me from doing things. I just put on my boots and went out and got the things done that I could do. Now that I am older it just doesn't seem inviting anymore. I remember when I used to walk five miles a day, six days a week. It didn't matter what the weather was like. The only weather that could make me skip my walks was snow on the ground, because it was too hard to get any traction.
I have been editing and organizing photos. I have been cleaning up things inside. I have been wasting time on the computer playing games. All this is fun and good, but what I really want to do is get started on my outdoor stuff. We did get the straw bales set last night. They are a little angled across the spot they are sitting, but they are there. The rain helps me with this project because I am supposed to soak them for about a week before planting them. I will go buy my plants later this week so that I can plant them next weekend.
I ordered a new camera today. It is not a DSLR. I really want one of those, but decided to upgrade my Fujifilm first. I love my Fuji camera and now I'm getting one with even better features. It actually has a "smile detector" and waits to shoot until the smile is detected. This should be great for the Logan and Daelin, who both try to thwart my attempts at pictures of smiling children and babies! I'm so excited. It should be here in a week. That means I can give my current camera to Keri. I can get a new door for the camera I already gave her and fix it. I can then give that one to David and Nikki. Jeren is disappointed because he wanted my camera, but I want Keri and David to be able to take pics of their kids. I told Jeren I would look for one for him. I think I can pick one up from ebay at a reasonable price and that can be his birthday present.
I was going through pictures and forgot about these ones of Logan at last year's BBQ. Maybe one of these days summer will come and we can have another BBQ.

This one is not at the BBQ, but I thought it was funny. He was wearing my plastic bowls as a hat.

6 more marbles.

I was without power for most of my pre-work day today, so this has to be a quick blog. So how about a picture of six more marbles in the soap? haha. I wonder how many more he put in there.
That's all the time I have for today, folks!
Enjoy!

The joke's on Grandma...AKA Logan's losing his marbles!

I like to use these types of soap containers because they have a nice built in dispenser. I like the dispenser because it keeps me from pouring too much into the soap dispenser in my washer. As you can see the top of the bottle has both the dispenser and a regular lid. I often keep the regular lid open just a couple of turns to add air to the flow. It makes it flow a little faster.

The dispenser on mine has been sticking lately. The bottle is almost empty, so I just figured it was getting clogged up by gummy detergent drying in the spout. I tried running it under hot water, but that didn't seem to help.

Because the dispenser has been sticking lately and not dispensing well, I have resorted to using this end and just pouring the detergent into the washing machine's dispenser. The bottle IS getting pretty low.

So imagine my surprise today when I poured the detergent into the soap compartment and heard, "Plop, plop, plop, plop!" hahaha....Four marbles! The only available culprit is Logan and he does love the marbles that go with the marble towers. He has a tendency to carry them around in his pocket. He must also know how to both remove and replace a screw-on lid! He sure gave Grandma a good laugh! And it also explains why running hot water on the dispenser did not unclog it!~

What Logan and I did today.

What I did today.

I put down my first set of stone borders that will be next to the driveway. I decided I didn't want my stone retaining walls to be perfectly even and perfectly level. I have looked at hundreds of examples around town from perfectly level (using a level to install) to haphazardly thrown around a tree. I am not down for a perfectly manicured lawn with perfect borders. My yard will always be lived in, just like my house. I like things to look more natural. I have decided to go with the middle of the road and used eye leveling. I also went with some of the natural dips and curves. I did use sand to help with what leveling I did do. I'm happy with the results so far.

The big view.

Slosh, slosh, slosh!

Logan's not smiling.

One day I gave Logan a bath and combed his hair nice and wanted to take some nice portraits of him all clean and shiny and combed. Logan is a very stubborn little guy and refused to smile. 52 pictures later, still no smile. Here are some of my favorites from the shoot.

First he refused to look at me.

The look says it all.

He almost forgot and smiled but then pursed his lips.

Cooperation? In your dreams.

He forgot himself for a moment because I got him talking about cars. Still not really a smile, though.

I decided to concentrate on the feet.

He got tired of the towel and wriggled out of it.

I gave him a book.

He did get a little interested in that, but not with a smile.

At least this is a pleasant looking face and not a scowl.

Talking about trains he almost relented.

But he caught himself and went back to the steely gaze.

One stubborn boy!.

Trying to come up with something.

Becky doesn't like it when I post late so I thought maybe I better get it written nearly on time today. I'm only an hour late this time. Of course, I have no idea what I want to write today. Let me go look at my photos.

Brb.

HaHa...that brb took forever. It's now almost six hours later.

Still dry in the brain. Let me go look again. I promise it won't be another 6 hours. I have to post by midnight.

How about this picture?
I love this picture because Logan is so clearly enjoying bugging the heck out of his brother, Isaac. Clearly. Annoying! LOL.
