Wordless Wednesday, A Time Gone By

Here are some pictures I took of the old grain mill near my house. When I was a teen, they still used this mill daily. The trains backed up and dropped their grain down the chute from the bottom of the grain cars. You should be able to barely see the tracks that run up alongside the building. Eventually the grain was delivered by semi-truck, but still dropped down the chute. This mill made animal feeds. I've always thought it would be a wonderful place for an antique store. Alas, I haven't the funds to make that happen.

It would have made a nice antique store. Sigh... Loved the pictures. Nice and rustic.

Thanks. I am so hoping they don't tear it down. They have been working on it lately and cleaning it up because some kids have been going back behind the silos and drinking or doing drugs. If I do notice them taking it down, I want to ask for several sheets of the corrugated siding. I thought it would be kind of cool to paint a picture of it on a piece of the siding and then I can use the rest to make some bird houses or something.
