A little bit of Easter, a little blurry.

I think I need to get another camera. I want a little point and shoot, like my old camera, so that I can take quick snapshots at family gatherings. I love my Fujifilm, but I can't seem to get it right when I want quick photos of kids moving around and doing stuff. Logan moves at the speed of light, and it is very difficult to get clear pictures of him when he's busy. I also prefer natural light which presents its own set of issues. I did try a few with flash, but they just aren't what I'm trying to achieve. I'm still learning my camera, but, I would still like another small point and shoot for in the meantime. Logan's newest thing is to run, throw himself down, and then wave his arm in the air while shouting, "I OK!" I couldn't get a picture of that because he is too fast.

Here are some snaps of Easter day. Sorry for the blurs. Just deal!

It sure didn't take long for Daelin to get the gist of how to play with this toy. He loves it!

Grandpa and Grandma enjoying the kids.

Logan kept Great-Grandpa occupied.

Whoopsy-Daisy!

Here he is talking to the other baby that was there.

Discussing options.

OK...I remember how to crawl. Let's go! Logan spent a good part of the time crawling while this little guy was there.

This is what he does if you ask him to smile for a picture.
Everytime.
Annoying.

Saying, "I don't know". I can't remember why.

Logan's not smiling.

One day I gave Logan a bath and combed his hair nice and wanted to take some nice portraits of him all clean and shiny and combed. Logan is a very stubborn little guy and refused to smile. 52 pictures later, still no smile. Here are some of my favorites from the shoot.

First he refused to look at me.

The look says it all.

He almost forgot and smiled but then pursed his lips.

Cooperation? In your dreams.

He forgot himself for a moment because I got him talking about cars. Still not really a smile, though.

I decided to concentrate on the feet.

He got tired of the towel and wriggled out of it.

I gave him a book.

He did get a little interested in that, but not with a smile.

At least this is a pleasant looking face and not a scowl.

Talking about trains he almost relented.

But he caught himself and went back to the steely gaze.

One stubborn boy!.

The choke hold and other favorites.

Here are some of my favorite, however-not-that-great photos.
I have a lot of these. We seem to like the choke hold for getting children to hold still for photos in our family.

Here you have Jeren holding Isaac.

Isaac is a fast learner and immediately tries this technique on his cousin, Mikaila.

Rhyan using the technique on Mikaila the previous year.

Mikaila using a modified version on Trenton.

David trying hard to keep me from using the technique.
In the process he uses the technique on himself. haha.

And here are a few more of my favorite less than photogenic moments.
I love these.

Trenton squinting at the camera.

Isaac holding the snot away from his lip.

One of my all time favorite pictures. This is a picture
of Alex and Derrick wrestling. Where are they? I don't know.
They were there when I started the picture, but in the
old days of digital there was this time-lapse between pushing the
shutter button and it taking the picture.

One year we made feather masks while we were down in Stockton
visiting Keri and the kids. If Rhyan looks like she is unhappy,
it is only because she is. She hated our last day there every time
we came and went.

I love this picture of Isaac helping Jeren to carry his door
back. When Jeren was little he couldn't stand the door shut.
I just took it off and got it out of the way. Now he can't stand
his door open. Thank Goodness. His room is awful.

And there you have it. A nice little medley for my NaBloPoMo day 18, which also happens to be my granddaughter, Mikaila's 14th birthday. I love and miss you Mikaila, in case you happen to be able to see this.
