Ay yi yi

Sorry. I had to make up some jam today, and freeze the rest of the cranberries, and paint the trim in the hall, and there just isn't enough time in the day sometimes.
Please accept this filler blog in place of the real thing.

How about a couple of pictures of a mail box in Grayland? Well, actually it is three.

As promised...

Here are the pictures of my living room color.

The first one is the best representation of the actual color. It's so hard to take true color pictures of wall paint. The last one really looks way more olive than it is. I will take more pictures when I get the couch covers on the love seats. It might be awhile before I actually find the rug I want. It will definitely be awhile before I get the floor done. But at least the living room will have a decorated feel to it again. It's been a long time since I've spent anytime decorating the living room.

Today's big news!

Ok...twice now I hit the enter button instead of the tab and published my post with an empty space where the blog should have been! haha. I so need a brain. If anyone has an extra one, please send it my way.

So on to my big news! I painted most of my living room today. I will finish it tomorrow, but I wanted the bird's area to be completely dry and hardened before I put them back in place. I also need to nail down the floor trim. Even though I will be replacing the floor, I want the trim down for now. It could be awhile before I get the floor done in here. I have other things that will need to be done before I can do the floor. I have some trim that was given to me free and so it is no loss if I don't keep it. The walls are long enough that I will only have to do minimal cutting so I could still use it again if I like.

I would post a picture showing the paint, but it is too late now. I will take some pics tomorrow and post them then.

The color is green, but it is a very specific green that I took from the rug that was down on the floor when I decided that I wanted to paint. I am such a good procrastinator, though, that the rug is now long gone. I still like the color, though, and especially now that it is on the walls. It is a bright green. I would describe it as a light olive green with lime thrown in for fun. When people ask me I tell them it is "pukey" green. That's the nearest I can do, but I love it and it's exactly what I wanted. I NEVER pay full price for paint because I can mix my own colors, so I always buy returned paints. Always, that is, until I wanted this color. I hand picked this color and paid the full price to be sure it was what I wanted. The ceiling and trim are white. I'm not sure what the floor will be yet. I got couch covers that are striped in gray, tan, white and brown. I am going to use a lot of brown accents. I think I will make a cover for the little waiting room couch in either gray or the white. I haven't decided yet. I want the curtains to be brown, but I might change my mind about that. I have to go look at fabric before I make a final decision. I am so excited to finally have a decorated living room again. It should be done before summer. I'm not sure if I can get it done before my birthday or not. Cost will be a factor in that because I will need a rug and I want a square one and they are not easy to find and not cheap when found.
I'm just so excited to finally be decorating my living room. It's been a long time coming.

It may not be the most exciting news in the world to anyone else, but to me it is BIG news! LOL.

It is April 5th already.

Haha...accidentally published this with just the title. I doubt anyone saw it, though!

I can't believe it's already April 5th. Only 20 days until my birthday. This is my BIG 60 birthday and it's on my list of 101 Things to do in 1001 days. My goal for this birthday was to have a birthday party. It will be a goal not reached because I don't want to have a birthday party. It just sounds like too much work. I have other things that I'd rather do and, in addition to that, I work on my birthday. I'm not really a party girl. I'm more of a hermit girl. It takes a major sized crowbar to pry me out of my house. I just like being left alone. Is that bad?

In other news: I thought I took some really cute videos of Daelin talking and doing "Itsy, Bitsy, (or Eensy, Weensy, ) Spider" with his mom. Very cute! Sadly, it's not on film. Apparently when it says "standby" on the screen it is recording and when it says "record" on the screen it is on standby. I should have remembered this from Scott's graduation. Scott is a nephew. I "video-taped" his graduation. I have a wonderful tape of the floor while I waited for him to walk to his diploma. I do not have a tape of him walking to get his diploma. So, as you can see, it is not only my older age that causes my brain to misfire.

Today I painted the birds's corner. I just did one coat and haven't even filled the holes, yet, but wanted to see what I thought of the color now that it's actually on the walls. So far, I really like it. It's different, but I think it will be great once I pull it all together with the curtains and such! I need to go shop for fabric, even though I have half a fabric store right here in front of me while I type this.

That's it for today. I'm looking forward to my day off tomorrow so I can continue painting. I'm not going to fill the holes in the walls behind the birds, anyway. I need to leave them until I know what I am doing with that area because it is going to change. I've got a couple of different ideas gelling in my brain. I am not sure just what I'm doing there, but it will be different and I might need a couple of those holes to fasten my "idea" to the wall.

Call me crazy!

I've decided to blog the daily April blog.
I need one more thing to do.
Actually, I seem to have more time these days and can enjoy spending my time working on the computer. I'm getting all my photo stuff organized and learning my photo editing software. I can do all the basics, but I want to understand more about the more complicated tasks in my programs. I am also working on learning more about the other programs I want to master, like Excel and video editing. I have some projects I want to do for people and I want to know all the features I have available to me.
I'm excited about the response to some of my photo artwork and hope to move forward in that area. I'm also looking forward to spring so I can get upstairs and get my studio set up and running. I have a lot to do that has to wait until nicer weather, so I'm trying to get all this preliminary stuff done while it's still too cold and wet to get to the nitty-gritty of what needs to be done out there.
Ok...I need to go make myself some lunch and don't want to rush it like I usually do. It's my Friday! Can't wait for my weekend. I have finally decided where the laundry room is going and can now begin the process of getting the rest of the areas done. I have to get an estimate for the support beam that needs replacing before I can build the walls, but in the meantime I am finally going to REALLY paint the living room ceiling and hopefully will have time to do the walls, too.
